Tuesday Tip #15: Keep up with AI 🧠

Hi Reader,

I’m so pleased to share with you my first podcast interview! In this episode of the “Ken’s Nearest Neighbors” podcast, we discuss:

🎓 How I went from being unfamiliar with the term “data science” to teaching it in less than a year

🧘‍♂️ How I overcame personal challenges through self-work

⏱️ What it’s like to be a full-time content creator in 2023

…and so much more. I hope you enjoy the conversation!

You can watch it on YouTube or listen in your favorite podcast player.

👉 Tip #15: How to keep up with AI & Data Science

Do you find it hard to keep up with what’s going on in the world of AI & Data Science? I know I do!

The reality is that our field is now hotter than ever! 🔥 But that also makes it impossible to stay up-to-date with the latest news, tools, and resources.

My solution is simple: Find the best sources of information, and ignore everything else.

Social media can be a great source of information, but it’s too hard to weed through all of the noise without getting distracted or overwhelmed. 😕

Instead, I recommend subscribing to a few select newsletters that have done the work of sifting and sorting for you!

Here are the two best newsletters that I read each week:

1. The Batch from DeepLearning.AI

Every issue starts with a thoughtful and timely letter from Andrew Ng, the legendary founder of Coursera. Then, The Batch summarizes a few AI stories from the week, including their comments on “why it matters” and their reaction to the news.

Here’s what makes it exceptional: The Batch is written by people who truly understand and care about the field of AI, and insist that AI advancements occur in an ethical fashion.

2. Data Elixir

Every issue of Data Elixir links to a handful of high-quality tools, tutorials, opinion pieces, and news articles from the world of Data Science.

Data Elixir stands out because the curation is top-notch, and because each link includes a helpful summary so that you can easily decide which articles might be of interest to you.

See you next Tuesday, and have a great week! 🙌
